Trophy gives your engineers the numbers. Ditto gives every user something worth sharing.
Trophy is an API-first gamification platform for consumer apps, and its Wrapped feature returns each user's year as data. Ditto is the managed year in review campaign: concept, design, data prep, rendering every version, QA and delivery. Finished creative for every person, video-led, plus images and carousels.
Data for your team to build with, or the campaign already built.

A year told in a person's own numbers is worth sending.
Trophy calls itself the gamification layer for consumer apps, and its Wrapped page makes a sharp point: aggregating a year of user activity is a project in itself, so Trophy does it for you. "Skip the data pipeline," as they put it. We agree that the numbers are the hard part to get right, and that people care about their own.
The difference is where the work stops. Trophy hands your engineers a clean answer, something like 212 days active, a 41-day streak, Top 5%. Someone still has to turn that into a design, a video, a share card, a version for every screen size, and check every one before it goes out. Ditto is that someone.
Ditto when the campaign is the deliverable. Trophy when the product is.
These are different jobs. Trophy is a strong fit for app teams who want gamification running inside the product every day. Ditto is for teams who want one finished year in review in every person's hands, without opening a build ticket.
Choose Ditto when:
- You want a finished year in review campaign, not a build project
- Your engineers have no sprint to spare in Q4
- You want video for every person, plus images and carousels
- Sharing on social is the point, and you want your audience to carry it
- You have the data, but haven't been sending events to a gamification API all year
- You want every version checked by a person before it ships
Trophy is the right call when:
- You want streaks, achievements, points and leaderboards in your app all year
- You need real-time, in-product experiences that update as people use the app
- Retention is the goal and you want it worked on every day, not once a year
- Your engineers want full control over how the recap looks and behaves
- You'd rather not build event aggregation yourself
- You're a small app and a monthly bill of $0 to $25 fits the budget
Already on Trophy? Your year is already counted.
If your app has been sending events to Trophy all year, the hardest part of a year in review is done. Trophy keeps running gamification inside the app. Ditto turns the year-end numbers into a campaign that travels outside it.
The year gets counted
Your app sends metric events all year. Trophy's Wrapped endpoint returns each user's days active, longest streak, most active day and percentiles.
The numbers come over
Pull each user's result from Trophy's API and hand it to Ditto as an Airtable base, one row per person. That's the whole handoff.
Every person gets their year
Ditto designs, renders and checks a version for every person, video-led, plus images and carousels, built to be posted.
Different products. Different economics.
On sticker price, Trophy is far cheaper, and for a small app it can be free. That's a real advantage. The fair comparison is all-in: Trophy's subscription plus the design and engineering time to turn data into a recap people want to share, against one campaign price with that work included.
- Launch$5,000Up to 2,500 deliveries. 6 assets per delivery: 1 video and 1 static, 3 sizes each
- Campaign$12,000Up to 10,000 deliveries
- Scale$25,000Up to 50,000 deliveries
Trophy gives your engineers the numbers.
Ditto gives every user something worth sharing.

The subscription covers data and infrastructure. Designing the recap, building the UI and any share card, and QA sit with your team.
Worked example: 10,000 active users
Trophy Pro is $299 a month, about $3,588 over a year, before anyone designs or builds the recap. You also get a year of gamification for that money.
Ditto Campaign is $12,000 once for up to 10,000 deliveries, with concept, design, rendering, QA and delivery inside the price.
Ditto is not a gamification layer.
Trophy serves a real buyer Ditto isn't built for. Its customers include EdTech, fitness, personal finance and productivity apps, and its customer stories cite retention lifts. That's year-round product work, and it isn't ours.
Ditto is not for:
- Streaks, achievements, points or leaderboards inside your app
- Real-time, in-product experiences that update as people act
- SDKs or APIs that ingest your app's events
- Behavior-triggered lifecycle emails and push notifications
- Retention mechanics that run every day of the year
Ditto is for: the year-end moment, where every person gets finished, shareable creative made from their own numbers, without your team building it.
We built the first ever Spotify Songwriter Wrapped.
In 2022 Ditto built the first ever Spotify Songwriter Wrapped: 7,000 personalized cards, each made from that person's own year. It was cards, not video. Today's Ditto campaigns are video-led, plus images and carousels.
Ditto vs Trophy, answered.
Is Trophy Wrapped a Spotify Wrapped generator?
Not in the sense of generating the finished thing. Trophy Wrapped is an API that returns each user's year as data: days active, longest streak, achievements, most active day, time-of-day split, favorite activities and peer percentiles. Spotify Wrapped is the designed story people see and share. With Trophy, your team designs and builds that story on top of the data. With Ditto, the designed and rendered year in review is the deliverable.
Does Trophy make shareable images or videos?
As of October 2026, Trophy's Wrapped page shows no generated images, video or share templates. The output is data, and your app team designs the recap UI and any share card. Ditto delivers finished creative for every person, video-led, plus images and carousels, sized and built to be shared on social.
Do I need engineers?
With Trophy, yes. Your engineers integrate its SDK or API, send metric events through the year, call the Wrapped endpoint and build the recap experience. With Ditto, there's no engineering sprint. Your data arrives as an Airtable base, one row per person, and Ditto's team handles data prep, design, rendering, QA and delivery.
Which is better for a one-time year-end campaign?
Ditto. A one-time campaign is exactly what Ditto is built to run, start to finish, with no subscription required. Trophy Wrapped is strongest when your app has already been sending events to Trophy all year and you want the recap inside your product. If you're already on Trophy, you can use both.
Can I use Trophy and Ditto together?
Yes. Trophy keeps running gamification inside your app and aggregates each user's year. Pull those results from its API into an Airtable base, one row per person, and Ditto turns them into a designed, rendered year in review for every person, ready to share.
Is Trophy cheaper than Ditto?
On monthly price, yes. As of October 2026 Trophy is free up to 1,000 MAUs, Starter is $25 a month and Pro is $299 a month, and its pricing page doesn't say which tier includes Wrapped. Ditto starts at $5,000 per campaign for up to 2,500 deliveries. Trophy's price covers data and infrastructure. Ditto's covers the finished campaign, including design, rendering, QA and delivery. Compare the all-in cost, including your team's time.
Does Ditto offer streaks, leaderboards or in-app gamification?
No. Ditto doesn't offer gamification, real-time in-app SDKs or event ingestion. If you want those running in your product all year, Trophy is built for it. Ditto runs the year in review campaign: finished, checked creative for every person, built to be shared.
Want the year in review, not just the numbers?
Your audience is your distribution channel. Give every person a year in review worth posting, designed, rendered and checked by Ditto, and let them carry it.
